Migrant children have a voice too. And when they are given the space to use it, they create stories that move, transform, and inspire. That’s exactly what happened in the Papa Léguas project, developed by the Centro Social Paroquial da Vera Cruz and supported by the AMIF 2030 Programme.
During the first half of July, the Papa Léguas project came to life with the first edition of the Papa Léguas Camp and the active participation of a group of migrant children, who created a stop motion video from start to finish. This short film, entirely conceived by the children, addresses themes such as welcoming and integration in the school context, reflecting their experiences, dreams, and hopes.
The Papa Léguas Camp was more than just a summer activity — it was a statement that all children have the right to be heard and to take part in building a school where they feel at home.
With creativity, sharing, and dedication, the children built a visual narrative that invites the entire educational community to listen to them and value their perspectives. The project is an inspiring example of how education can be a space for inclusion, expression, and transformation.
Papa Léguas is promoted by the Centro Social Paroquial da Vera Cruz, with the support of the European Union through the AMIF 2030 Programme, under Strategic Objective 2 – Legal Migration and Integration.
